Who is Molly Bish?

Molly Bish was a 16 year-old lifeguard, who was abducted from Comins Pond in Warren, MA on June 27, 2000.  Family, friends and the community were shocked by the cruel reality that fell upon Molly’s parents, John and Magi Bish as they dealt with a parent's worst nightmare - the abduction of their child.  The agonizing search for Molly came to an end in 2003 when her remains were found in Palmer, MA, only five miles from her home and where she was abducted.

In 2004, John and Magi Bish collaborated with Anna Maria College to create the Molly Bish Center for the Protection of Children and the Elderly in memory of their daughter.  As a lifeguard, Molly took responsibility for the safety and protection of others.  In her honor, the Center was established to promote the safety and protection of two of the most vulnerable groups in our society: children and the elderly.  “Magi and I can’t change what happened to Molly,” says John, the Center’s first Advisory Board Chairman. “But we can try to stop it from  happening again.”

A special message from Molly, age 10, to Holly Piirainen, who had just been abducted

Molly was the same age as Holly when she heard about her disappearance. Molly wrote a letter to Holly's family, telling them she was hoping for her safe return home. Holly's family unknowing saved Molly's letter never realizing the impact and emotions this letter would bring. Please read Molly's message here
