The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to prepare individuals for professional careers in management and to provide educational enrichment for experienced professionals seeking a broader management perspective. The faculty consists largely of professional practitioners whose academic credentials are further enhanced by the level of their personal accomplishments. Their experience provides the student with a valuable balance between theory and application. The MBA program in the School of Graduate Studies is an accelerated program. The schedule consists of six 8-week sequences per year. An Advanced Certificate in Business (ACB) is also available.


Master of Business Administration

To earn an MBA, students must complete the core courses that includes ethics, six required courses, five electives, and one capstone project.  Required courses include:

Ethical Theory
Financial Analysis
Decision Making/Quantitative Analysis
Marketing Strategies
Legal Issues in Business
Economic Decision-Making in a Globalized Economy
Research Methods and Technology
Capstone Project or Policy and Strategy
 
MBA students may concentrate in one of four areas by completing five electives from the concentration and focusing on the area in their capstone project. Students seeking a broader business program may also choose a generalist concentration, selecting courses from a variety of areas.

Certificate Programs

The Advanced Certificate of Business (ACB) strengthens the academic credentials of managers who hold an MBA degree. To accommodate the ongoing needs for professional development, the program will update, enhance, and expand the executive's knowledge and expertise. To complete the certificate requirements, students must complete five MBA electives. Students may design their own programs, either specializing in a particular area or choosing from several areas. All courses must be completed within five years, and an overall GPA of 3.0 must be earned.
