Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to prepare individuals for professional careers in management and to provide educational enrichment for experienced professionals seeking a broader management perspective. The faculty consists largely of professional practitioners, whose academic credentials are further enhanced by the level of their personal accomplishments. Their experience provides the student with a valuable balance between theory and application. The MBA program in the School of Graduate Studies is an accelerated program. The schedule consists of six 8-week sequences per year. An Advanced Certificate in Business (ACB) is also available.


To earn an MBA, students must complete the core courses that includes ethics, six required courses, five electives, and one capstone project.

MBA students may concentrate in one of four areas by completing five electives from the concentration and focusing on the area in their capstone project. Students seeking a broader business program may also choose a generalist concentration, selecting courses from a variety of areas. Concentrations include:

Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the Master’s in Business Administration will be able to:

1. Communicate, in both written and oral forms, at a level appropriate to graduate study. 
 
2. Demonstrate research skills, both qualitative and quantitative, and understand the theoretical
    implications of research, as well as how those implications inform decision making.
 
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the roles and challenges of ethical decision making
    in today’s business world.
 
4. Work collaboratively in teams, analyzing relevant business case studies.
 
5. Demonstrate competence in key areas of business such as finance, marketing, and economics.
 
6. Demonstrate an understanding of  the global environment of business and its implications for
    opportunities and decision-making.
 
  Certificate Programs
 The Advanced Certificate of Business (ACB) strengthens the academic credentials of managers, who hold an MBA degree. To accommodate the ongoing needs for professional development, the program will update, enhance, and expand the executive's knowledge and expertise. To complete the certificate requirements, students must complete five MBA electives. Students may design their own programs, either specializing in a particular area or choosing from several areas. All courses must be completed within five years, and an overall GPA of 3.0 must be earned.
 
Part-Time program online
Anna Maria College also offers a Master of Business Administration online for students, who want to go back to school part-time and who are seeking distance learning and a flexible schedule. This online program offers five specializations including Sport Management and Health Informatics.
