Dean of the School of Fire and Health Sciences
Judith Kenary, RN, MBA, Ed.D, touched the lives of many of her students at Anna Maria College when she served as an assistant professor. In her new role as Dean of the School of Fire and Health Sciences, her passion for education will become even more infusive on campus.
Dean Kenary enjoys being able to initiate learning as a creative experience. “I think that it is important to integrate real-life experiences, current affairs and theory into the classroom,” she shares. “I really love my work at Anna Maria. To me it is not a job. It is my passion.”
Her future plans for the School of Fire and Health Sciences include developing a strategic vision that will meet the needs of current and future AMC students in the areas of nursing, health science and management, environmental studies and emergency and fire services including EMT and paramedic science.
Bio: Dean Kenary graduated from Pace University with a BSN and received her MBA at Anna Maria College. She earned her Doctor of Education from the University of Hartford in educational leadership. After serving as a registered nurse in a variety of clinical settings, Dean Kenary joined the Fallon Clinic in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1982 where she was quickly promoted to Director of Clinical services working in this capacity for the medical group practice for over 20 years. Dean Kenary joined the AMC faculty on a part-time basis in the mid-1990s and eventually became Chair of the Division of Business, Law and Public Policy. She left the College in 2011 to work at UMASS Medical School Commonwealth Medicine in Correctional Health returning in 2013 to serve as the Dean of the School of Fire and Health Sciences.
