Music Major

The music programs foster a community of musicians by developing students' proficiency in music skills, building their academic knowledge of music and cultivating professional attitudes toward musicianship. All students study intensively and perform on their major instrument through individual studio instruction and a variety of vocal and instrumental ensembles. Many students also perform on a secondary instrument.

Combined with a thorough grounding in the liberal arts, a music degree will prepare students for a range of career opportunities. The College's programs are fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

In addition to College requirements, Music majors must complete:

Compositional Techniques II-IV
Ear Training I-IV
Piano Class I & II
Music History I & II
Individual Studio Instruction in Major Instrument
Ensemble

Minors in Music
Students may complete a Minor in Music with 18 credits.
