Courage to Care - Passion in the Helpling Professions

This year’s social work conference welcomes David Pelzer, nationally known speaker and author of A Child Called It.  After persevering through the horrific abuse he was subjected to as a child, Mr. Pelzer travels the country speaking about the “everyday heroes” that helped him get to where he is today and the responsibilities of protecting children is that of the entire community, not just one or two individuals.  Continuing education credits for social workers and licensed mental health counselors will be available; conference appropriate for social workers, educators, health and mental health professionals, public safety professionals.  This conference is cosponsored by the social work program, the Molly Bish Center, the Anna Maria College Student Government Association and National Association of Social Workers-Central Regional Council.
