Large Crowd Turns out for Men's Basketball GNAC Quarterfinals Game The men’s basketball team fought hard against the Emmanuel Saints in the GNAC Quarterfinals game that took place on Tuesday. The student den roared as the AMCATS held a strong lead throughout most of the game. Senior Patrick Bradanese had a game high of 23 points. Seniors Tyler Delorey and Kyle McKissick also scored in the double figures, with 18 and 15 points. Emmanuel took its largest lead of the game with 2:48 on the clock, putting the Saints at 86-82, but Anna Maria continued to fight back. With .4 seconds left in the game, the AMCATS tried to run a full-court heave but were left unsuccessful. Although the AMCATS were not victorious, they will await word of a bid to the 2016 ECAC Tournament. Great season, men! Read more about the game here.

The couple leads a Lenten series at Worcester’s St. Paul Cathedral. The “Christ Crucified Today: Contemporary Assaults on the Sanctity of Life” series is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, through March 14, in St. Paul’s cenacle.

Fans in the Stands, Times Two Thank you to everyone who was a Fan in the Stand and cheered for the Special Olympians on Sunday, February 21. The athletes and their families appreciated the support and a great time was had by all. The Feb. 21 event was the second of its kind held at Anna Maria this winter. The first Fans in the Stands event took place on Jan. 31.
Celebrate African Heritage Night with OMA To conclude Black History Month, the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is hosting an African Heritage Night on Friday, Feb. 26 in the Dining Hall from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All are invited to hear Philanthropist Bleejay Innis speak about Liberia and the efforts he is making to provide proper housing, food and electricity for families. Get On the Right Track for Retirement Faculty and staff are invited to a presentation on strategies to determine if they are on the right track to retirement. Marsh and McLellan Agency will be presenting on Thursday, March 17 at 1 p.m. in the Jacques Conference Room on financial strategies and what you can do to maximize savings potential for retirement. Annual Holy Week Concert Set for March 22 Anna Maria College Music Department will present its annual Holy Week Concert on Tuesday, March 22 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary of the Hills Parish in Boylston. The concert will be conducted by the College’s Director of Music Education Reagan G. Paras and performed by Anna Maria’s Concert Choir and Wind Ensemble. The performance will feature Franz Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in G Major D. 167.
"Mindfulness in the Classroom" students and professors Julie Ugalde and Lisa Carpino visited the NMR Temple and Meditation Center in Raynham, MA earlier this month. This Buddhist temple is the largest outside of Thailand.
