Nursing Professor’s Research Featured in Nursing Journal and Other Forums The work of Anna Maria College Assistant Professor of Nursing Stacey Carroll, Ph.D., will be featured as part of Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital Research Day in May. Dr. Carroll and her co-author have been selected for a poster presentation on their research of how nurses are portrayed in children’s literature. The presentation will be based on their paper recently published in the Journal of Pediatric Nursing. Although campaigns are currently underway to improve the nursing profession’s image in other media, Carroll and her co-author conclude that those campaigns need to extend to children’s literature, given the impressionable readership. Following their analysis, they recommend that nurses should assist with the editorial process to ensure valid and accurate portrayals of nursing professionals in that literature.
