Faculty Art Exhibit Open for All to See Last night kicked off the official opening of the Art Center Gallery in Miriam Hall. From now until October 17, the faculty art exhibit will be showcased in the gallery. The exhibit features the artwork of 11 art professors using mediums such as painting, photography and sculpture. The Art Center Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For questions, contact David Wackell.
Anna Maria College's Molly Bish Center Remembers Andy Puglisi On Thursday, September 1, the Anna Maria College Molly Bish Center participated in a press conference to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Andy Puglisi’s disappearance. The city of Lawrence, Lawrence Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and the Molly Bish Center, worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to create a renewed buzz about his disappearance. Dr. Ann Marie Mires, director of the Molly Bish Center, handed child identification kits out to the public at the event.
Several Seniors Awarded Alumni Scholarships The following seniors received the Anna Maria College Alumni Association Senior Scholarship: Sarah Bibbey, Laura Cabral, Britnie Campaniello, Christina Gauvin, Ravi Lor, Christopher Newcomb, and Jonathon Roy. Funding for the scholarship comes from the generous financial support of alumni and helps to provide financial assistance to well-deserving and academically-focused Anna Maria seniors. Oomf your Phone at the Library The Mondor-Eagan Library is excited to bring Oomf to the campus. The Oomf is a powerful, portable smart-phone charger available to rent and return. Whether you forgot your charger, pulling an extended study session or in between classes, students will now have the convenience to charge their phone with Oomf. Click here to read it.Moran and Bottis Tabbed as GNAC Players of the Week Two AMCATS have been named player of the week by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). Field hockey player and senior Kaitlyn Moran was named on Tuesday, the first time she has earned a conference weekly honor since her freshman season. Women’s soccer player and junior Ashley Bottis was also named on Tuesday, marking the second time she has earned the league's top weekly honor in her career at Anna Maria. Dowd Presents Keynote Presentation in California Adjunct professor Kevin Dowd gave a keynote presentation to the Department of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of San Francisco on August 12. Professor Dowd’s talk was titled “A Spirituality of Imperfection” and spoke to a crowd of over 80 Catholic educators.

Join Career Services and the Office of Advancement on Wednesday, September 14 for an opportunity to learn networking skills. The speaker will highlight the art of mingling and small talk, first impressions and introductions. The class starts at 6 p.m. in the Jacques Conference Room. Celebrate the Beginning of Future Academic Accomplishments with the Matriculation Ceremony Kick off the celebratory 70th anniversary weekend of the College's founding! Join students, faculty, staff and administration on Friday, September 16 for the annual Matriculation Ceremony. During the ceremony, new students will have the opportunity to sign the Registry of Scholars and be presented as an "official" Anna Maria College student. CollegeFest Comes to Worcester This year there will be a CollegeFest event for college students right here in Worcester. CollegeFest features live music, games, other entertainment and free swag from local and national sponsors. Just bring your student ID for free entry. Non-student guests are permitted for free when accompanied by a student with appropriate ID. Don’t miss your chance to get free stuff and learn more about Worcester and all it has to offer.
