During the month of December, Dr. Lisa Summer traveled to China to share her expertise on Music Therapy with college students.
On December 5th, Dr. Summer gave a one day seminar, Introduction to Music & Imagery at the Music Therapy Program at Sichuan Conservatory of Music. There were 50 undergraduate music therapy students and six music therapy and social work faculty members in attendance.
On December 9-11, she conducted a 3-day seminar, Self-Care with Music. Participants included 18 psychologists and physicians who work in healthcare settings in the community, especially in medical hospitals in the capital city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province and the Director of Music Therapy at Sichuan Conservatory of Music.
After the trip, The Director of Music Therapy at Sichuan Conservatory of Music invited Dr. Summer to return next year to continue to contribute to the development of music therapy in Sichuan Province.
Later in December, Dr. Summer was in residence at the Beijing Music Wellness Center to lead several Music & Imagery trainings including:
- 3-day seminar, Self-Care with Music, for psychologists and music therapists
- 5-day Level II Re-Educative Music & Imagery Seminar
- Supervision for Level III Guided Imagery and Music trainees
- 4-day Level III Guided Imagery and Music Seminar
