Thomas Sabbagh, Ph.D.
Associate Dean of the Division of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education
Welcome to the admission page for the Division of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education. I want to begin by congratulating you for having the motivation, insight, and dedication to respond to the national education agenda and create a better life for yourself, your family and your community!
So, why have you chosen Anna Maria College to pursue your educational goals? Are you seeking personal enrichment, professional growth, new career pathways, or new opportunities that require relevant education and training? The answer to these questions is fundamental to AMC’s ability to ensure your success. Rest assured that is our primary concern as a Catholic institution of higher education. Can Anna Maria College help you achieve your educational goals? I believe the answer is “yes.”
As a strong testament to our success, our alumni have continually received both state and national recognition as strong professional, civic and community leaders from their education in Public Administration; as entrepreneurs in business fields from their education in Business Administration; as public safety leaders from their education in the fields of Criminal Justice, Fire Science and Emergency Management; as healthcare providers from their education in Occupational and Environment Health and Safety and Nursing; and as compassionate counselors from their education in Counseling Psychology and Pastoral Ministry.
Your experience at Anna Maria College will be transforming. The College community is dedicated to making AMC the leader in both graduate and continuing education, regionally and nationally. As a non-traditional, adult student myself, I understand all too well that non-traditional adult students must, often times, balance competing pressures of family, work, and personal “life triggers.” Therefore, I am committed to being constantly vigilant for new and creative delivery methods including traditional on-ground formats, and accelerated, online, hybrid, blended and distance education options, which build a community of scholars at an intense pace but do not compromise academic rigor or quality.
Oscar holds his Bachelor’s degree from Providence College and two Master’s degrees from Boston College: a M.A. in Higher Education Administration and a M.Ed. in Education Research, Measurements and Evaluation. His research has focused on new models for diversity and social justice education and understanding and evaluating campus climates through data mining.
He joins Anna Maria College from Siena College where he served as Director of the Damietta Cross-Cultural Center and the Director of Cross-Cultural Training Institute. His experiences at Boston College were with the Office of the Vice President of University Mission and Ministry, the Lynch School of Education and School of Theology and Ministry.
