AMC has an active residential life program that strives to make living on campus a special part of the total college experience. Over 540 AMC students live in the five residence halls: Madonna Hall, Alumni Hall, Coghlin Hall, South Hall and Esther House. Along with 20 student staff, Assistant Director, Area Coordinator, 4 professional on-call staff and the Associate Dean, the residents participate in a community where learning is fun, friends are made and a second home is found.

Madonna Hall is a multilevel, four-wing building located in the center of the campus. The wings are named O'Leary, Mondor, Eagen and Duggan. Madonna Hall has double rooms, some large quads and triples and six suites with bathrooms. It is the largest hall housing over 300 residents. Esther House, adjacent to Trinity Hall, has 29 single rooms for upperclassmen. Alumni Hall, found "on the hill," houses 30 upperclassmen in both double and single rooms. Coghlin Hall, opened in 2007, joins to Alumni Hall, expanding that area with 44 more beds and making it fully accessible. New in 2008, South Hall offers 91 beds, mostly in double rooms, with air conditioned comfort.

The Residence Life Office is committed to a philosophy of education that rests on a Roman Catholic value system fostering not only the intellectual but also the personal growth of each student. To fulfill its commitment to this philosophy of education, Residence Life attempts to create a residence hall climate that encourages personal responsibility, respect, religious and moral sensitivity, social awareness and freedom of thought. Residential living provides the opportunity for each student to live and participate in a community committed to the Mission of the College and the ideals of the Sisters of Saint Ann.

There is a Resident Assistant (RA) living on each floor of Madonna Hall, one in Esther House, four in South Hall and three in Coghlin and Alumni Halls. The RAs are upperclass students who have been selected and trained to help students build a living and learning environment in each hall. They are there to answer any questions, report maintenance concerns, refer residents to campus resources and keep everyone informed of campus news. There is an RA on duty every night and all weekend to assist residents.

Living in Madonna Hall are Resident Coordinators (RCs). These are live-in professionals who are on call in the evening and weekends for emergencies. The RCs all have full time jobs outside of their RC responsibilities.

The Assistant Director of Residence Life supervises the Residence Life staff. The Assistant Director, Michelle Cash, has her office on the first floor of Madonna Hall and lives in Alumni Hall. She is responsible for most aspects of the residential experience.

Residence Life falls under the auspices of the Associate Dean of Campus Life. Should you have a question or concern about living on campus, you may direct it to Elizabeth Bonneau, 508-849-3459, ebonneau@annamaria.edu. Mrs. Bonneau has her office in the Residence Life Office in Madonna Hall.

Deadline for Current AMC Students for Housing

Room Deposit Deadline:  Monday, February 1, 2010, at 4:30 PM

Housing will be full at AMC in 2010/2011! Returning resident students who wish housing for the academic year 2010/2011 MUST:
1) meet the room deposit deadline AND
2) be registered for fall 2010 classes no later than May 1, 2010.

Residents who pay the room deposit on time are eligible to participate in Room Lottery in April to pick their rooms.  Students having trouble meeting this deadline need to talk to the Assistant Director of Residence Life, Michelle Cash, mcash@annamaria.edu, 508-849-3271, well before the deadline to ensure that there is time to work out a solution. No exceptions are made for late deposits! Students not registered for fall classes by May 1 will have their housing cancelled. Please email Michelle Cash if you have any questions!

Current commuting students who wish to become resident students for 2010/2011 may apply to the Residence Life Office after February 2, 2010.  Both current commuting students applying to live on campus and current resident students who miss the February 1 deadline are placed on a waiting list and are housed in August on a space available basis after the incoming class. Residents eligible for Room Lottery may not “hold” a bed for a student who missed the housing deadline or a commuter. No deposit is collected from those on the waiting list unless a bed is offered.  Housing is offered to full time undergraduate students only.

Commuters wishing to move onto campus and current residents applying for housing after the February 1, 2010 deadline are not guaranteed housing and will not know about their housing status until August. Do NOT plan on being housed from the waiting list; make other arrangements as there are NO promises of a bed on campus!

To be eligible for a bed for the academic year 2010/2011, current resident students must have paid the $100 room deposit to the Business Office before 4:30 PM on Monday, February 1, 2010 AND be registered for fall 2010 classes by May 1.  There will be no exceptions to either deadline.
