Mission Statement

  • To create an atmosphere and environment for all members of the program – student-athletes, coaches, support personnel – to be successful members of society.  Involvement in the program will help lead them to be successful while in the program and when they leave.
  • To provide academic support for each student-athlete to reach full potential as a college student.   This will help them attain the most important part of the college experience – the college degree.
  • To provide the training exercises for each student-athlete to reach their full athletic potential.  When each student-athlete can perform at an optimum level, the team can attain the goal of championships.
  • To help each student-athlete begin their post college career with the best opportunities for success by having been a part of our football program.

Coach's Philosophy

Offensively we will start in a two back set to build toughness in our program.  Our philosophy is that if the offense can run the football and the defense can stop the run, then the team will be tough.  Football is a tough game played by tough men, and it all starts with that premise.  Once toughness has been instilled in the program we will look to open the formations and do more both offensively and defensively.  This is my philosophy on building a program from the ground where no football exists.  I suspect what we do in 2009 will be different than what we do in 2012, but the toughness will always remain!

When we win, and we will win, we will do it the right way - with good character people! I am basing what we do on the type of person that we recruit.  I value having good people in our program much more than having a good athlete of questionable character.
