Assistant Coach: Michelle Gosselin
Michelle Gosselin joins Anna Maria College for her first season as Assistant Coach of the women’s basketball team, bringing with her a history of success both on and off the court.
She began her playing career at Rice Memorial Catholic High School, a perennial basketball powerhouse in the state of Vermont. She was All-Conference in the Metro Division and captured a State Championship in 2001.
From there, Coach Gosselin attended Salem State where she was a two-year Team Captain. She led her squad to two Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference Championships, and played in the NCAA National Tournament three times, advancing all the way to the Regional Finals in ’07-’08.
Gosselin earned several individual awards during her collegiate career. She was selected as a member of the All-Conference Team in both the ’05-’06 and ’07-’08 seasons, and was named Team MVP in her senior year. Always making sure to put school first, Coach Gosselin was a member of the Academic All-Conference Team all four years of her collegiate career. In addition, she was selected as the John D. Galaris Student Athlete, an award given to the Salem State female senior with the highest GPA, and was also honored as the Howard C. Smith Cup Scholar Athlete, which is MASCAC award for outstanding academic and athletic achievement.
While at Salem State, Coach Gosselin set the program’s all-time record for three-point percentage in a season by shooting .428 from behind the arc. She is also second on Salem’s all-time list for free throw percentage in a season, shooting .825 from the stripe. For her career, she finished among the program’s top 20 in points (977), steals (153), and games (109).
Michelle also earned valuable experience coaching the Vermont Lightning and Bay State Blizzards AAU Basketball teams.
Coach Gosselin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from Salem State and currently resides in Worcester, Mass.
