Now entering his 3rd full year as the Anna Maria College Head Baseball Coach, Dave McNamara has completely remodeled the Anna Maria College Baseball Program. After taking on the difficult challenge of turning the program around in 2007, McNamara has rebuilt the Anna Maria Baseball Program. The 2009 AMC Baseball team set program records in runs scored, batting average, hits, doubles, home runs, runs batted in, total bases, and earned run average while reaching the 2nd most wins in program history.  A Holy Name High School Graduate (1999), McNamara went to Worcester Academy as a Post-Graduate (2000) before attending Clark University.  McNamara was an Academic-All American at Clark University and was also Captain of both the Baseball and Basketball teams, where he earned his B.A. in Business Management in 2004.

He excelled at both sports, leading the Clark University basketball team to back-to-back Elite Eight NCAA Tournament appearances in 2001 and 2002.  McNamara is one of few collegiate athletes to score over 1,000 career points in basketball (1,827 points-second All-Time at Clark University) and have over 100 career hits in baseball.  An Academic All-American in basketball, he earned multiple awards including All-Conference First Team in both sports.  As a junior, he finished third in the country in 3-point FG% (47.4% , 91-192).  McNamara also graduated with the single-season RBI record in baseball at Clark University while leading the Cougars in batting(.387), hits (43), runs (27), runs batted in (31), doubles (10), stolen bases (12), and on-base percentage(.457)  as a senior.

Following his highly successful playing careers, McNamara was an assistant coach for the Clark University basketball team and also served as an assistant coach for the Doherty High School baseball team.  Dave is currently in his 4th year as a teacher at Doherty High School in Worcester, Mass.  His younger brother, Shaun played professional baseball for the Worcester Tornadoes, and is currently the pitching coach at Amherst College.  His other brother, James is a junior on the Anna Maria baseball team.  Dave currently resides in Holden, MA with his wife, Julia.
