Welcome to the Center for Teaching Excellence, which provides full-time and adjunct faculty members at Anna Maria College with increased and ongoing interaction focused on teaching and learning. The Center offers faculty development and training, quality control for courses, and mentoring and continued professional development. A steering committee advises the Center to ensure a high degree of investment and campus-wide collaboration. Committee members include the dean of academic affairs, division chairs, and representatives from the graduate council, information technology, the library, and the learning center. The Center for Teaching Excellence is a grant-funded initiative awarded by the Davis Educational Foundation, established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis’s retirement as chairman of Shaw’s Supermarkets, Inc.
Our mission: Anna Maria College values reflective practices that result in systematic assessment, quality improvement, and openness to growth. The Center for Teaching Excellence will serve to recognize, develop, implement, and evaluate innovative and effective teaching and learning strategies that foster student engagement.
Our role: to nurture, encourage, coach, suggest, and hone.
Enjoy reviewing the available resources, and let us know how we can help you.
