Health Services
Health Services provides health care for sick or injured full time undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at AMC. Clinic services are provided by the nurse practitioner and a physician. Treatment offered by Health Services is covered by undergraduate tuition; however, your insurance plan may incur charges for additional medical services such as lab tests, prescription medications, and ambulance transportation. Health Services provides assistance for all AMC students in becoming knowledgeable health care consumers and assists them in making positive lifestyle choices. Health Services offers a variety of services including:
- Diagnosis and treatment of Illnesses
- Ongoing and follow-up care
- Health and nutritional counseling
- Confidential provider visits
- Referral to outside specialists and resources
- Health promotion and awareness events
The pre-entrance immunization requirements at Anna Maria College are based on the Massachusetts Law 105 CMR 220.000. All students registered for classes at Anna Maria College must present evidence that they are adequately immunized in order to register for classes.
Health Services is located at the end of the Trinity East building and open Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Appointments
Appointments for Health Services can be made by calling (508) 849-3315 or by stopping by the Health Services Office. Walk-ins are also accepted during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Walk-in acute care situations and emergencies are given priority attention.

Hospitals
Should students need further testing or care, they will be referred to UMass Memorial Medical Center (one of two locations) or St. Vincent Hospital.
Confidentiality
AMC's Health Services is legally and ethically obligated to protect students' right to privacy. A student's medical record is strictly confidential. No one other than Health Servicess staff have access to a student's medical record without the student's prior written permission. This restriction includes the student's parents, AMC's faculty and staff, and outside agencies. An authorization for disclosure of medical records is available in Health Services.
Insurance Requirements
Massachusetts law requires all full-time and three-fourths-time matriculated students to have comprehensive health insurance. Students will be billed automatically for health insurance unless waived during registration. All full time and part time Anna Maria College students will not be charged for visits to the Health Clinic. Students must, however, submit a copy of their health insurance and policy number. Insurance information may be necessary for further treatment outside of Health Services, such as lab work, prescriptions, and/or hospital referrals.
Requirements for Admission to Anna Maria College
The State of Massachusetts Department of Public Health requires that a completed medical file for each student be maintained in Health Services. The following is required prior to admission to Anna Maria College:
Physical exam within one year of admission
Proof of immunizations: two dose series MMR, three dose series of Hep B, two dose series Varicella, or proof of history of disease, Meningococcal vaccine – for all residential students, Tdap within five years of admission.
All international students need to have Tdap immunization within 12 weeks of arrival in the U.S.
Any student not meeting these requirements could be prevented from registering and attending classes, and/or moving into housing until the information is provided.
