Anna Maria College announces that sophomore Christopher Koretski, a fire science major, recently served as the youngest Guardian on the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chief's Foundation Honor Flight. As a Guardian, Chris was assigned to assist an 88-year-old Navy Veteran of WWII, Donald Scales, from Charlestown, RI, as they visited the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America's veterans for all their sacrifices. The organization transports our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.
According to Mr. Koretski, Mr. Scales felt the trip was "simply amazing!"
