PAXTON, Mass. --  Anna Maria College freshman midfielder Robert Nickerson (Boylston, Mass.) was selected as The Commonwealth Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week, as announced by Conference Commissioner Gregg Kaye on Monday afternoon.

 

The AMCATS had just one game last week, but Nickerson made the most of the opportunity. He scored the game-tying goal in the 84^th minute on a 35-yard blast that sent the match into overtime. Nickerson then scored the game-winner in double-overtime on a header off of a corner kick in the 105^th minute of play.

 

In sparking the AMCATS to the 2-1 victory over Endicott, Nickerson helped the club set a new program record for conference wins in a season with 6.

 

Nickerson finishes his fine freshman campaign with nine points on four goals and an assist, while also notching two game-winning scores.
