Anna Maria College announces that it has been selected to participate in the Council of Independent College’s (CIC) Engaging Evidence Consortium, which is funded by a grant from the Teagle Foundation. Members of AMC’s Academic Department under the leadership of Billye Auclair, Ph.D., will attend the first Consortium meeting in Washington, DC, August 5–7, 2012, along with the other selected institutions with the expectation of working as a team over the next one and a half years to assess student outcomes in higher education.

As part of the CIC Engaging Evidence Consortium, Anna Maria College will participate in the Consortium’s efforts to assess how to improve student learning on college campuses, as well as participate in the online community of practice by sharing experiences and resources with other Consortium institutions and provide a final written report describing the outcome of the project, including a reflection on the successes and disappointments of the experience with possible recommendations for future projects.

“Participation on this CIC Consortium is an honor for AMC,” explains Dr. Auclair. “It will give the College’s academic leadership the opportunity to share best practices and learn from other institutions how to develop programs to improve student learning and outcomes at our campuses. I am extremely excited about the possibilities.”
