Freshman Jillian Allard of Spencer, MA, was awarded the JFK Award for the Class of 2015. She was acknowledged as a student who made her presence felt immediately upon her arrival on campus, as well as for her involvements with student organizations including HABACATS, the Class of 2015 executive board as publicist for this year and vice president-elect for next year, Campus Ministry, and Active Minds.
Sophomore Ernie Brooks of Nashua, NH, received the JFK Award for the Class of 2014 for the second year in a row. He was acknowledged as a student whose smile and positive attitude brightens up the AMC campus on a daily basis. He is a member of the Fire Science Association and HABACATS and is the Class of 2014 Vice President.
Mr. Brooks was also the recipient of the 2012 Campus Compact Newman Civic Fellows Award. Campus Compact is a national coalition of almost 1,200 colleges and universities committed to fulfilling the civic purposes of higher education. The schools of the Campus Compact, which include Anna Maria College, envision educational institutions as architects of a diverse democracy committed to educating students for responsible citizenship in ways that both deepen their education and improve the quality of community life.
Junior Sean Mensah of Silver Springs, MD, was presented with the JFK Award for the Class of 2013. He was recognized by fellow students for his involvement in various student organizations, including being President of ALANA, a member of the International Film and Culture Club, and Vice President of the Social Action Group.
Senior Alicia Savo of Mt. Vernon, NH was presented with the JFK Award for the Class of 2012. Alicia was acknowledged for her ability to balance her time commitments of being a student athlete, playing on both the Women’s soccer and lacrosse teams, Class President and an executive board member of the Student Government Association, including serving this past year as President.
