Forty percent of the job seekers who stay unemployed do so because of their personal appearance. Many people have the attitude that they should not be judged by their appearance, but by how well they do their job. Reality is that your appearance is the first thing that most employers will notice. The employer’s first ‘visual’ perception of you can be the hiring factor. This workshop addresses the importance of proper dress as it relates to interviewing and business situations.

Practice makes perfect or at least close... These practice interviews are conducted by faculty and staff to allow students an opportunity to try out their interviewing skills and receive constructive feedback on how they might improve. Real world employers will be ready to check your resumes in preparation for the upcoming COWC Career Fair on Wednesday, March 24th. Bring a hard copy of your resume and take advantage of the valuable feedback from an experienced professional.

Etiquette Dinner

In an effort to prepare students in business etiquette, dinner etiquette, and communication etiquette, the offices of Multicultural Affairs, Student Activities, and Career Services have come together in a collaborative effort to bring to campus a workshop that highlights all of these areas. Ms. Millie Downing, a nationally recognized etiquette expert, image coach, speaker and the founder and director of The Etiquette School of New England will be on campus to provide a workshop for AMC students. Students are being asked to dress in professional attire for this event and should know they will be served a four course meal throughout the duration of the workshop.
