Success Center FAQ
We are open in the Student Success Center Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are open in Madonna Hall from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. A writing tutor is available in the Information Commons from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. All Student Success Center locations are closed on Saturday.
We have tutors in all subject areas, and the list is posted on the bulletin board in the Student Success Center. Each tutor's picture is posted along with which subjects they specialize in, as well as their hours. This schedule is also available online. Students do not need to sign up to speak with a tutor.
Yes. Printing is available at all three Student Success Center locations.
Check the schedule to see if someone else can tutor in the same subject and is available, or come back at a better time that works for you and the tutor. You may also contact Brooke Denver or Dennis Vanasse to arrange a mutually convenient time for you and the tutor.
Yes, study rooms are available as well as tables within the Student Success Center.
Yes, have your professor arrange to leave the exam with one of the staff members. When you come in to the Student Success Center, inform the tutor at the desk that you are taking an exam and a proctor will escort you to a testing room.
There are computers and printers available for use, class notes from particular classes, textbooks from some classes, as well as study guides donated from other students.
Yes, any available tutor can assist you with studying or quiz material.
Yes, as long as the volume is low enough not to disturb other students studying.
Yes, most tutors are able to edit and proofread papers, helping to correctly format the paper, and make grammatical corrections.
No, it is free within your tuition.
There are other tutors available in the Information Commons and Madonna Hall as well.
If you need a copy made, a tutor or staff member can make them for you.
No, the Student Success Center can be a comfortable place to work alone or with a group.
Computers, printers, and tutors are available in Madonna Hall and in the Information Commons.
If you have a documented disability, please bring the appropriate documentation to Dennis Vanasse, Director of the Student Success Center, and he will determine if you are eligible for reasonable accommodations.
