Introducing

Anna Maria College’s
Battle of the Badges Program

This new summer program is designed for high school and prospective college students interested in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, and Fire Science.

This two-day overnight program will take place July 19-20 and will bring students together with leaders in local, state, and federal-level law enforcement, emergency management, and fire prevention.

Thanks to our extensive network in these fields, students will have the opportunity to:
  • Meet and hear outstanding leaders and professionals in all three fields
  • Compete with other students in fun, informational events
  • View live demonstrations of state of the art technology
  • Learn more about specific careers and job placement opportunities
The program includes free overnight accommodations, food, and the first annual Battle of the Badges T-shirt!
Space for the program is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Career Services
Mentoring Program

The AMCAT Mentoring Program is a unique opportunity for students to learn from College alumni. Mentors will guide and share professional knowledge with students embarking on similar careers.

The Career Center will work with students to collect information about their career goals, interests, and extracurricular involvement and then match prospective mentees with alumni mentors.

The mentor and student will be asked to commit to a year-long, one-on-one mentoring relationship with the purpose of creating a professional, mutually beneficial partnership.

Whittier Street Health Center Board of Directors Dedicate and Name Health Center Site "Frederica M. Williams Building"

Recently, the Board of Directors of the Whittier Street Health Center dedicated and renamed its health care facility located at 1290 Tremont Street in Roxbury, the "Frederica M. Williams Building" in honor of its CEO and President, Frederica M. Williams, '94G. The new building name was unveiled during a special ceremony.

Ms. Williams was named Whittier Street Health Center CEO and President in 2002. "This building dedication was a way for the Board to show our appreciation for her many years of hard work, dedication and commitment to providing health care to Boston residents seeking care," said Pastor Gerald Bell, WSHC Chairman of the Board of Directors. "This facility was built and shaped by a phenomenal woman with a vision: Frederica M. Williams. She's a classic example of how a person with tenacity, passion, and determination can - against many odds - achieve astounding results and provide underserved communities in Boston with healthy futures," he said.

The Whittier Street Health Center serves 30,000 patients annually and continues to grow with projections of serving 40,000 by 2020. The facility offers primary care and a wide variety of other services such as an eye care dispensary, expanded oral health services, an onsite pharmacy with discounted medications, physical therapy and specialized clinics to address wellness and chronic diseases. Partnering with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Whittier also offers a Community Cancer Center, Mammography Suite, expanded diagnostic services, and a cancer survivor program.
