Three New Undergraduate Majors Added for Fall 2019
To be successful in a rapidly-changing business climate, graduates must be technologically savvy, have the ability to navigate risks and challenges, and recognize opportunity to drive change in a responsible and sustainable way. These three new majors will prepare students to not only successfully compete and contribute in their respective fields, but to do so as trained ethical leaders and community-orientated professionals, the hallmark of an Anna Maria College education.
The Health Administration major is an applied business degree that prepares students with the theoretical business foundations as well as the practical skills required for careers including health information management directors, business analysts, practices administrators, clinical directors, and health services managers.
The Digital and Social Media Design degree will not only teach students how to create compelling content, but also study how this media can impact all facets of the marketing mix including website traffic, customer relationships, and brand messaging.
The degree focuses on helping students develop technical and aesthetic skills while learning to use equipment and software for still photography, videography, and digital editing. The combined experience of professional practice, internships, and a capstone project prepares students to work within the field of media communications as visual content producers, storytellers, or documentarians.

Alumna Spotlight
Martha Chiarchiaro, '78 '85G
Martha Chiarchiaro arrived at Anna Maria in the fall of 1974 eager to begin her college experience. A Worcester native, Martha took the bus to and from the Paxton campus, living at home with her family and maintaining her job at Friendly's.
While at Anna Maria, Martha was encouraged to travel to Italy, where her love of history and of art came together to ignite an intense passion that led to a career as a lecturer in art history throughout Greater Worcester for more than 30 years.
Martha also had an impressive career in human resources, most recently as the vice president of human resources/payroll at Clinton Hospital.
She earned her BA in English literature/art history from Anna Maria, a master's degree in art history from Williams College, and her MBA from Anna Maria.
We're delighted to announce that Martha joined the Alumni Association Board on July 1, 2019.
Please join us in welcoming her.
