Alternative Break Fundraiser
This year two groups totaling 30 Anna Maria College students and staff will be given the opportunity to work in Puerto Rico during the 2019 winter break and in Hattiesburg, Mississippi during the 2019 spring break. The Sisters of St. Anne dedicate their lives to the poor and have set an example for us to develop good will in our global communities. Our main effort during the winter trip will be aiding in hurricane relief efforts alongside Vacations That Give after the recent hurricanes that have so drastically affected the people in Puerto Rico. Our main effort during the spring trip will be helping to construct a home for a family in need with Habitat for Humanity. In addition to learning about and working in these communities, we will pray and reflect on our experience together. Upon returning, we will share our experience and accomplishments with you.
As you can understand the impact a trip such as this can have on college students and struggling families. In order to make this trip a reality, we must raise money for our housing, food, transportation, and the materials we will need for our project. The participating students each pay $200 toward the trip, but we need additional resources to make this service week a reality. While we are holding various fundraisers, we must also rely on donations from individuals like you. Would you consider making a donation to support this worthwhile service trip? Your contribution is tax-deductible. During this time of preparation and during the weeks of January 6th and March 3rd, all of the students and staff participating in the trip would also appreciate your prayers for a safe journey, filled with insights of what it means to live a life of service to others.
