Freshmen & transfer students are invited to join United Way’s Day of Caring on Thursday, September 12th. Commit to this day where we will care for the city of Worcester and our local community. Day of Caring brings the entire Worcester area together to serve its needs and foster a commitment to service and caring. The day is held from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Transportation is provided. Students are encouraged to eat breakfast before checking in at 8:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided following return from the sites in Zecco.

 

If you cannot make it this day we have two other options available for you to fulfill this community service requirement for you FYS class.

Day of Caring

Thursday, September 12th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (150 volunteers)

Volunteers going into the local Worcester community and helping out with various projects including painting, farming, trash pickup, etc.

 

Community Harvest

Saturday, September 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (60 volunteers)

Community Harvest Project is a non-profit farm that engages volunteers to grow fresh fruits and vegetables to provide to those experiencing hunger. Through their volunteer farming programs, education initiatives, and community partnerships, they bring thousands of community members together each year to improve access to healthy foods for individuals and families in need across Worcester County.

For those who cannot make it to one of the two other events, you will be asked to volunteer at a separate time and location to be determined. This may include the Molly Bish Center, Mustard Seed Soup Kitchen, or others.
