Graduate Scholarships + Assistantships

Presidential Scholarships (up to $5000 max award for full-time program only) - Priority Deadline June 1st
The goal of the Presidential Scholarship program is to assist outstanding graduate school candidates to find their right path. These awards are given to encourage worthy candidates to help make their graduate journey more affordable.

To apply for the Presidential Scholarship we ask that you fill out the online form & submit a FAFSA. Please site accomplishments both academically and or in business/service and how your experience, along with our program, will help you to be successful. Also please let us know how many courses you plan to take each semester.

Awards are given yearly and are split between semesters (fall, spring and in some programs summer). You must reapply each year and all awards are for credit only and are not cash awards. The awards committee will have the final say in any and all awards.

The applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all funds are exhausted.

Grad Ambassadorship - Priority Deadline June 1st
Looking for current graduate students to fill the role of 
grad ambassador. The grad ambassador assists the Director of Graduate Enrollment and Recruitment in any and all recruitment and admissions practices.

Responsibilities include:
Assisting the director and/or program directors in various admissions and recruitment projects including researching competitive schools, use of social media, surveys, data analysis or student outreach. Responding to admissions inquiries via phone and email; assisting at on-campus information sessions; assisting in outreach and recruitment programs; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects and be able to meet required deadlines. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability to present the College in a positive way to diverse populations.

Desirable:
The ideal candidate would have a strong and positive College experience as both a student and campus community member. Experience having represented a College (for example, as a Student Ambassador, Tour Guide, RA, Orientation Leader) a plus.

Compensation:
Ambassadors will be expected to work 10+ hours per week in exchange for an hourly wage of $10 per hour + tuition remission of one full class and a 25% discount on a second class.

Graduate Assistantships

The Office of Residence Life is now accepting applications for two graduate assistants for the 2017-2018 academic year. The contracted dates for the position are August 1, 2017 – May 21, 2017. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility to renew for a second year should you be in a two-year graduate program. Compensation for the position included free housing and a 10 meal/week meal plan when the dining hall is open, ten paid office hours per week at $11/hour, one free graduate class and one class at a 25% discount per semester.

Graduate Assistant 1: Resident Director

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to a lead a lifestyle that is supportive of the mission of Anna Maria College and specifically the Office of Residence Life.
  • Serve as a role model for undergraduate students at Anna Maria College.
  • Assist the Director of Residence Life and the rest of the residence life staff in the delivery of all Residence Life
  • Serve as the Resident Director for an upper-class residence hall
  • Take part in the on-call duty rotation where you will assist RAs with resident concerns, respond to emergencies, etc.
  • Facilitate student conduct meetings and determine appropriate sanctions
  • Supervise a staff of 6 RAs, hold weekly staff meetings, biweekly 1:1 meetings with each RAs and offer support and guidance.

 

Graduate Assistant 2: Program Coordinator

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to a lead a lifestyle that is supportive of the mission of Anna Maria College and specifically the Office of Residence Life.
  • Serve as a role model for undergraduate students at Anna Maria College.
  • Assist the Director of Residence Life and the rest of the residence life staff in the delivery of all Residence Life
  • Serve as the programming specialist for the Office of Residence Life. This included leading training sessions for RAs, tracking and coordinating program advertisements and attendance, planning and promoting large scale residence life events including but not limited to: Halloween on the hill, easter egg hunt, resident appreciation week, etc.
  • Advise residence hall council.
  • Take part in the on-call duty rotation where you will assist RAs with resident concerns, respond to emergencies, etc.
  • Facilitate student conduct meetings and determine appropriate sanctions
