Dr. Gonsalvez graduated with a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from Loyola College, Madras, India in 1986. Then he went on to Law school to get my Bachelors in General Law. Upon graduating from there, he began his career as a social work educator in 1989 at Loyola College, Madras, India. In weeks, he found himself attracted to the teaching profession. The following year, he joined Madras Christian College, Chennai to teach graduate level students.
In the year 2000, he migrated to the United States and worked in an administrative position in the field of information technology in New York. In the year 2001, he accepted the position of a program director at The Bridge of Central Mass in a program that served clients with addiction. At this time he joined Anna Maria College as an adjunct faculty.
In 2004 he got his Ph.D. in Social Work and Public Administration. Since then he worked as an assistant professor at Bridgewater State University and Marywood University. In the year 2011, he accepted the position of Director of Social Work at Anna Maria College. He successfully led a group of students from Anna Maria to India and Chile as part of a study abroad experience. He now directs the Master of Social Work Program at Anna Maria College.
