Lisa graduated from high school and attended Leominster Hospital School of Nursing in 1989 receiving a diploma in nursing. Since then, she has worked in a variety of settings such as acute care settings, outpatient clinics and long-term care facilities. She has been a registered nurse for 30 years. Prior to her position at Anna Maria College she worked in administration. For the majority of her career, Lisa has been serving the geriatric community, but has now transitioned to college students. With her extensive experience in nursing, Lisa would like be an advocate for students while promoting health and well-being, and providing quality care to those in need. She believes that education is very important in the healthcare industry to always stay current. For that reason, she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary studies with a minor in criminal justice at Fitchburg State University and has aspirations to continue on to earn her Master’s degree in nursing.

 

William Hughes, MA/CAGS, LADC

William M. Hughes, MA/CAGS, LADC  holds a Master Degree and a Certificate of Graduates Studies from Assumption College in Rehabilitation Counseling.  Bill is a LADC (Mass.- License Alcohol and Drug Counselor) as well as a LRC (Mass.- Rehabilitation Counselor).   He has worked as a counselor in medical and outpatient settings.  Bill has been the Director of Driver Alcohol Education programs and a highly successful treatment program in a correctional facility.  Bill is also a CEAP (Certified Employee Assistance Professional) who has worked in medical and major manufacturing settings. “It is easy to appreciate the array of stressors, varying anxieties and daily challenges that students have to learn to navigate on their college careers.  The Counseling Center is a place where they can find the support and guidance to assist them in this journey”.

 

Sherri Grande DiReda, MWS, LICSW

Sherri Grande DiReda is a clinical social worker, earning her Master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University. Her clinical work has primarily focused on working with college students, having held clinical counseling positions at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Services (Boston), Clark University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Areas of clinical interest include working with students around issues of adjustment and transition, identity development, relationship challenges, anxiety and/or depression, substance use and/or abuse, unexpected emotional challenges and ongoing stress management. The college years are an exciting time of growth and opportunity. At the same time, they can often come with unexpected emotional challenges. Diana McLaughlin, MA, LMHC

Diana Mclaughlin is a licensed mental health counselor who earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Framingham State University. She has extensive experience working with children, adults, facilitating groups, and working with families. She also has over 20 years of experience working in various settings such as specialized foster home programs, school settings, and mental health clinics. With her background experience and expertise, she has the knowledge and the skill sets needed to work with a wide range of individuals diagnosed with mental health conditions, such as Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment disorders, and Mood disorders.

 

Leonard Waice, D.O.

Leonard Waice, D.O. has been the college physician for Anna Maria College since 2008.  He received his medical degree from the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine and his residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center Family Practice at the Barre Regional Family Health Center.  He worked for over 20 years at Wachusett Family Practice and currently is a full-time physician for Carewell Urgent Care in Worcester, MA.  Dr. Waice is also the college physician for Becker College and school physician for the Wachusett Regional School district. He has been a team physician for several local colleges and high schools. Dr. Waice has an interest in sports medicine.

 

Theodora Jean

Theodora Jean earned her Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) degree in Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology from Anna Maria College in May 2019. Prior to her employment here, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Personal Care Associate (PCA) at local hospitals and assisted living homes; as well as, a medical scribe for the Family Health Center of Worcester where she continues to work alongside various providers. She is certified through the American Red Cross in both First Aid/CPR/AED and Basic Life Support. Ms. Jean finds that it is important to serve others, meet their healthcare needs and aspires to become a healthcare provider in the near future.
