AMC Professors Participate Fire Rescue International Conference

Anna Maria Colleges announces that a number of its full-and part-time professors who teach in its School of Fire and Health Sciences are featured speakers at the Fire Rescue International Conference hosted by the International Association of Fire Chiefs that was held August 13-15, 2013 in Chicago, IL.  The speakers are as follows:

John Sullivan, Deputy Fire Chief, Worcester, MA, spoke on the Line of Duty Deaths that the City had in 1999 and 2011

Gary McCarraher, Fire Chief, Franklin, MA, spoke on the application of broadband networks in the fire service and other strategies to improve communication on the fire-ground

Steve Coleman, Fire Chief, Auburn, MA, spoke on how fire departments can make better use of public relations concepts

Sheri Bemis, Fire Chief, Oxford, MA, spoke on why fire and EMS organizations must improve their human resource strategies

Matt Hinds-Aldrich, Ph.D.,  Assistant Professor, spoke on his on-going research into the problem of firefighters arrested for setting fires
