Cap and Gown Days
March 26 & 27, 2014
10:00 am to 2:00 pm – in the Campus Center
Caps, Gowns & Announcements will be handed out to Full-time Undergraduate Students only, all others will be sent to their homes.
Commencement weekend starts with the Baccalaureate Mass. This ceremony combines a celebration of your academic success with the mission of the College through celebration of Mass and the Hooding of the Bachelor’s Degree Recipients. It is always a moving moment to see the undergraduate students hooded by a faculty member of your choice.
At the Cap and Gown Day, March 26 & 27, Undergraduates will receive an invitation to present to the faculty they wish to invite to perform the student’s hooding at the Baccalaureate. We ask that the accepted invitations are submitted to the Office of Student Success prior to Commencement Weekend so that we can coordinate the hooding ceremony and lineups. Detailed instructions will accompany each invitation.
The Baccalaureate Mass will be held in the Fuller Activity Center on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 5:00 pm. Robing for the Mass will be held in Foundress Hall Room F117 and students must arrive by 4:30 pm. All undergraduate students participating in the Baccalaureate Mass should wear their gowns and carry their hoods over their left arm, no caps will be worn. Undergraduate students graduating with honors will receive their honor cords prior to Baccalaureate Mass and carry them with their hoods. Graduate students will wear their hoods over their gowns for the
Baccalaureate Mass and will be hooded at commencement the following day.
