Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 Title IX is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in educational programs and activities at institutions that receive federal financial assistance.
 
Anna Maria College is committed to providing an environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex. Anna Maria College provides many resources to students, faculty and staff to address concerns relating to discrimination on the basis of sex, which includes sexual misconduct.
 
Anna Maria College has designated the following individuals that are responsible for receiving complaints and investigating allegations of sexual misconduct by an AMC student in connection with a College program or activity.

The Title IX Coordinator has primary responsibility for Title IX compliance at Anna Maria College. The coordinator also does intake of reports and complaints regarding sexual harassment, sexual violence, and all forms of sexual misconduct involving employees, visitors, vendors, and other 3rd parties and coordinates the investigative process.

Title IX Deputies receive training on responding to reports of sexual harassment, sexual violence, dating violence, stalking, and all forms of sexual misconduct. Deputy Title IX Coordinators are available to take reports, explain the reporting process, direct individuals to resources, and explain victim rights. Deputies take reports and complaints and perform investigations from students regarding all forms of sexual misconduct.

Whether or not you choose ultimately to pursue criminal charges, you can contact the Public Safety Office. Officers are professionally trained and experienced in dealing with, sexual assaults and rape.
