A Focus on Service
Service-Learning and Civic Engagement
Developing life skills to succeed in the workplace
One of the hallmarks of Anna Maria College is its commitment to service. The traditions of volunteerism, service-learning and civic engagement date back to the College's founding in 1946. Over the course of the College's history, hundreds of students, faculty, staff and alumni have offered their time, energy and talents for the Common Good.
For the past three years, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) has honored Anna Maria College as a leader among institutions of higher education for its support of and commitment to service and community by admitting the College to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
In 2014, nearly 200 of Anna Maria College's First Year Students participated in United Way's Day of Caring. Students also give back to the community through the College's partnership with the Mustard Seed Kitchen and St. John's After School Program, among others.

In spring 2014, AMC's Campus Ministry offered its Alternative Spring Break trip. Under the direction of the College's Campus Ministry, 18 students spent one week in the Cherokee Nation in Northeast Oklahoma. Students provided services on the Cherokee Nation reservation, working at a soup kitchen and performing home repair projects. This semester, a group of 21 students took part in the 2015 Alternative Spring Break trip to Puerto Rico over the spring recess.
